PROBLEM: Crash during playback with a file that has a long name.

The information in this article applies to:
- Pronto for Windows all 32 bit versions up to and including 5.35.
Symptoms
Pronto for Windows crashes when playing back a
file with a name longer than 27 characters.
Cause
There is a bug in the filename handling in Pronto
for Windows. During playback Pronto for Windows creates temporary
files using the names of the files from the Logger. When the file
extension is added to a filename longer than 27 characters other data
is overwritten and Pronto crashes either immediately or while the
file is being transferred.
Resolution
Either:
Upgrade Pronto for Windows to release 5.36 or
later.
Or
Rename the file in the Logger so it is less than
28 characters.
To rename a file in the Logger perform the
following steps:
- From the Logger Main Menu screen select the
Explore button.
- On the Sessions Explorer screen select the
session you wish to rename from the list, then click on Rename.
- Edit the filename as required and click on OK
and then click on Back (in the top left corner) to return to the
Main Menu.
